Shade Sails for SCAD Savannah, Georgia

Shade Sails are a series of overlapping geometric shades that create a canopy shelter to provide sun shade and UV protection for a limitless variety of uses. The geometric forms are primarily rectangular. The inward curves along the sides of each shade fabric panel are engineered to help spread and distribute the tension placed at each connection point evenly over the entire sail. The result is a sail shaped sun shade capable of providing functional shade in an iconic architectural form. 

Recently Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD) contacted us to fabricate Shade Sails over their school Soccer field. The shade sails were the perfect solution to create much needed shade for the spectator seats. In addition for this SCAD project, we constructed custom designed aluminum metal panels to appear just like the exterior of a bee hive for the SCAD school mascot Art T. Bee.
